[C] Poetry Unbound – Broadening the horizons of literature through digital tools

In my bachelor project I focused on the exploration of the use and role of various digital tools to break down the boundaries that I believe literature has nowadays in terms of author - reader relationships and interpretations.

In an attempt to overcome these boundaries, virtual and interactive spaces were created that immerse the user in subjective interpretations of various poems that in some way recount certain phases of my final years of study abroad.

Each poem was printed on a 50x100cm canvas, each with its generative visualization based on structural factors of the poem, such as meter, number of stanzas and verses, etc. These visualizations were sprayed with conductive silver paint.

By touching the figures on the canvas, this signal is transmitted via conductive adhesive tape to the computer, which activates the respective virtual space with the help of a MakeyMakey board. Using VR glasses, the user can then view and interact with the various rooms and interact with them.

In order to give the visitors a better context of my project, my bachelor thesis was also printed, sprayed with silver paint and presented in the exhibition room.
